This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get Core Membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get Core Membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
One rainy night. It's the typical setting for such a story. A young woman wakes up in a dark alleyway without a trace of her past. Where was she? Who was that mysterious voice she heard in her dreams? Why did she have no memories? What had happened to her? Her thoughts were cut short however, when she was ambushed by a mad hobo made of soap.
Thrust into a bustling city with no purpose or direction, the woman sets out to uncover her lost identity. This is where you come in.
The woman's name is RITA. You are now her subconscious. It is up to you to guide her through her story, interact with people, and make decisions which could ultimately determine her fate...
Sleepless is off hiatus! That is to say, Sleepless has undergone a restart! That's right, Sleepless has started again from page 1. The previous 2012 version will remain online, but the pages will be stashed away in their original DA folders.
Q+A Why not continue where you left off? Multiple reasons. Rereading the comic, I've noticed the comic didn't really have a set format or style. There are a few parts here and there that would have needed retcons after a few story revisions. Simply put, I felt that it would have been easier in the long run to start fresh with set stylistic and story choices in mind instead of going back and fixing everything.
What's different? Art style changes. Slight character design updates. Small story tweaks here and there. Music integration. Dialogue/page description changes. But apart from that, much of Sleepless should be similar. You can still give the protagonist commands through the comments section, and those are periodically swiped and turned into the next page.
Why Tapastic? DA was never really a comic hosting site to begin with. Back in 2012, I didn't really know many alternatives. Tapastic is episodic, fully supports GIF animations, has a scroll-down format for easy reading of multiple panels, supports Soundcloud for music (original soundtrack project is a go!). And whilst there isn't much in the way of website customisation, ease of reading and command input takes priority over fancy webpages.
If we're starting at square 1, what happens to all the previous pages the readers helped build? For those of you who have been following the comic since its beginning, the reboot should follow a similar overall plot. As for the individual panels, that's up to what the readers will decide our protagonist to do in this incarnation. After all, there's absolutely nothing stopping you from making suggestions for the new version!
But... the inside jokes! Hat collections! Johnbert! Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about them! I read every single comment on those pages, and I'm sure those fun times will reappear in the revised version in some way or another.
Thanks for staying with me all these years! Now that uni's more or less over for now, I can focus on personal works. Now, get ready, get set! The comic can be found here: tapastic.com/series/Sleepless
